SHINGLE STYLE COUNTRY HOUSE

This traditionally-designed house for a health-conscious family of six sits on a winding, tree-lined street in an established neighborhood. Inspired by Shingle Style houses, with a Kiawah Island or Low Country vernacular, it is intended to look as if it has aways been there. Generous first floor rooms, detailed with traditional millwork and mouldings, in a peaceful color palette, open to each another for a casual family lifestyle. The classic proportions and relaxed sophistication of the interior extend to the exterior, where covered terraces and an outdoor fireplace allow for al fresco living much of the year. The large, private back lawn includes a greenhouse, organic vegetable gardens and a hen house, creating the feeling of living in the country.
